Learn MoreMost casinos offer texas hold ‘em as poker, and occasionally you’ll see Omaha. There’s a version that’s also popular in many casinos known as Pineapple, which in a way splits the difference.
I have no idea if this has been shown on the poker tour, but here’s how it goes.
You’re dealt three hole cards (instead of two in Hold ‘Em and 4 in Omaha), and a round of betting carries on. Now the version split again. In Pineapple, you discard one of the hole cards before the flop. In crazy pineapple, you discard after the flop.
Otherwise the game carries on like Hold ‘Em. Three card flop, then turn, then river, with appropriate betting. Pineapple and Crazy Pineapple are most always played as hi-low split pot.
I’ve not seen it offered in tribal casinos, but many non-tribal casinos have it. I am not sure why this is.
