Poker Newbie

I happened to catch an episode of a poker game on the television the other day. I have heard of it a number of times and I even see my husband playing it online but I have no clue how it is played. That day, I decided to watch the game and I saw the players with their poker faces, some of them even had sunglasses on while playing. I think they really wanted to hide their expressions. 

The game finished and I learned that there are many winning combinations, like two pair, straight, etc. I only heard this from my husband who patiently explained the game to me. I didn’t quite catch everything so I guess I’ll have to check Wikipedia later to read about the game myself. We have a poker set here at home which we haven’t gone to using because I don’t know how to play it. 

My husband even thought of joining a poker tournament online but I’m not sure if he’s done it yet. It’s good to know that there are online poker sites available so that an enthusiast can play with other players from across the world. It’s nice practice after all especially if one has plans of eventually taking the game seriously and bringing it to another level. 

As for me, I’ll have to brush up on my knowledge of the game first. It looks like fun so I’ll definitely give it a try.
