How to Recognize Gambling Addiction

Sure you love to play poker, roulette, and other games that involve gambling, but how do you know when you’ve crossed the line from having a good time to developing a gambling addiction? Go through the following questions, and if you answer yes to 5 or more of them, then it may be time to seek the help of professional before it’s too late.

1. Have you taken off work to gamble?
2. Have you set a minimum of money to spend and gone over that number?
3. Have you canceled plans with friends or family members to gamble?
4. Do you think about gambling for at least an hour each day?
5. Are you convinced that you’ll hit the big time one day?
6. When you do win, do you eventually end of losing all your winnings?
7. Have you gambled with money that was specifically set aside for something else (i.e. bills, groceries, birthday present)?
8. Do you plan vacations around places that are close to casinos?
9. Do your friends avoid gambling with you?
10. Does your spouse know how much money you’ve gambled?
