Learn MoreThe issue of gambling
Gambling has first existed when ancients acquired more wealth than they ever need. Because they get anything possible with cash, they used their money to place bets and they invented gambling. Through the years, the practice of gambling spread like wildfire to middle and lower classes of the society due to entertainment, popularity and myths being propagated. Some of these myths were:
(1) Gambling offers a way to elevate one’s status because he/she is acquainted with upper classes.
(2) I look like a person with lots of money because I have extra money to spare for betting.
(3) Well when I gamble, I win more often than I lose.
(4) And when I lose more than I win, I usually alloted more bet on my winning chances.
(5) I found lots of friends when i gamble.
(6) Honestly, gambling is very entertaining.
Yes gambling is entertaining, but on a long run of consistent gambling. Stresses built up from unrecovered losses, you wake up in the morning and the first thing on your mind is to gamble, but at the same time think of your losses the previous day. The fact is you lose more money because you often lose, plus the strain you are giving to your health. And if you are approaching bankrupt of your gambling money, you resort to gamble anything; your personal belonings, jewelry, insurances, your home, real estate, and for last resort your spouse, children, your pet and underwear.
Well honestly I also gamble on small-scale, well no one can eliminate gambling completely (even the Taliban militants can’t do it!) but I do advise that you should not gamble your hard – earned money. Gamble the money you didn’t earn instead!
